Accessibility Statement
Last reviewed: September 10, 2026
Acupuncture Medical Clinic of Maryland is committed to making amcmaryland.com usable by everyone, including patients who use assistive technology such as screen readers, screen magnification, voice control, or keyboard-only navigation. Accessibility is an ongoing part of how we build and maintain this site, not a one-time project.
Conformance Target
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, the standard referenced by the HHS Section 504 rule and widely used as the benchmark for ADA Title III compliance. This site has been reviewed against WCAG 2.1 AA success criteria across document structure, images and media, forms, color and contrast, keyboard and focus behavior, motion, third-party embeds, links, responsive layout, and zoom.
Measures We Have Taken
Recent work on this site included: adding a skip-to-content link and a single main landmark on every page; adding and strengthening visible keyboard focus indicators sitewide; making the navigation dropdown menus and the mobile menu fully keyboard-operable, including a proper focus trap, Escape-to-close, and returning focus to the menu button; adding programmatic state (aria-expanded, aria-controls) to the FAQ and cause accordions; associating form field error messages with their fields so they are announced to assistive technology instead of relying on color or position alone; making the interactive body-map illustration on the homepage operable by keyboard; ensuring the homepage's animated statistics expose their real, final value to assistive technology rather than a moving digit that never resolves in the accessibility tree; and adjusting several text, border, and link colors that fell short of the required 4.5:1 (text) or 3:1 (UI component) contrast ratio.
This site is built so that content remains visible and usable if a visitor's browser cannot run JavaScript, and every animation on the site respects the operating system's "reduce motion" setting: entrances resolve instantly to their final, readable state instead of staying hidden or stopping mid-transition.
Ongoing Review
We periodically re-test this site with automated tools and manual keyboard and screen-reader checks, and we review new pages and features against the same standard before they go live.
Known Limitations
The Google Reviews widget embedded on the homepage (Elfsight) and the embedded Google Map on our appointment sections are third-party tools that we do not fully control the code of. We have kept a direct, accessible alternative next to each: a plain-text link to our reviews on Google, and a plain-text address, phone number, and driving-directions link alongside every map. If you have trouble with either embedded tool, those links and our phone number will get you the same information.
We link to a small number of patient paperwork PDFs. We have not yet completed a full tagging and accessibility audit of those individual PDF files; if you need any patient form in an accessible format, contact us using the information below and we will provide it directly.
