Jazmin Torres

Patient Care Coordinator

Jazmin grew up in South Florida, where she started her career in healthcare about three years ago as a care coordinator in the dental field. While that role gave her a solid foundation in patient care and coordination, it was her coursework at Miami Dade College (EKG) and Florida National University (phlebotomy) that really sparked her passion for the broader medical field. Those hands-on experiences opened her eyes to how much she enjoys being directly involved in clinical care, and she’s been building on that interest ever since.

She is a PT care coordinator. That’s the heart of it — in a field where people often come feeling unheard, just making them feel seen can be half the healing. It’s the small stuff: remembering they were nervous, following up on their back pain, checking in on something they mentioned. That kind of attentiveness is rare, and it sounds like she’s good at it.

Something Patients Have To Deal With That Jazmin Wants To Fix

Patients shouldn’t have to fight through a fragmented, time-consuming healthcare system on top of being sick. The real problem is thousands of small things: scheduling across unconnected providers, repeating forms, and insurance that drain patients’ time and energy. Fixes: better tools, clearer communication, and treating patients’ time and cognitive load as part of their care.

What Does Jazmin Like About Working Here?

What she likes most is that they actually walk the walk on patient care. People feel heard there, and that’s rare. She also loves the team — no ego, everyone’s collaborative, and they’re all genuinely invested in making patients feel supported. It’s the kind of workplace that reminds her why she got into this field in the first place.

Outside Of Work

She’d say her main thing is traveling. She loves exploring new places, and she always keeps a journal along the way to capture the experience. She’s also been getting into learning about natural remedies — it’s fascinating to see what plants and simple practices can do for your health. Reading is a big part of her life too, mostly non-fiction that helps her grow. And when she needs to clear her head, nothing beats a good hike.
